BASEBALL PROSPECTUS and IMAGINE SPORTS
FORM STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP
Premier Baseball News and Analysis Provider Partners with
Leading Online Sports Simulation Game Site
SAN MATEO, CA - March 19, 2008 - Imagine Sports, Inc., a leading online multiplayer sports gaming company, today announced a strategic partnership with Baseball Prospectus (a unit of Prospectus Entertainment Ventures, LLC), the leading independent destination for baseball news, analysis, opinion and statistics and the publisher of the New York Times best-selling annual Baseball Prospectus. Under the terms of the partnership, the companies will share content and co-develop baseball games. As part of the deal, the companies will promote each other's products, and Imagine Sports' highly-proclaimed Diamond Mind® games will become the "Official Simulation Games" of Baseball Prospectus.
"We are thrilled to launch this partnership," said Nate Silver, CEO of Baseball Prosepctus. "Imagine Sports and Diamond Mind Baseball are representative of the same commitment to product quality, customer service, and statistical accuracy that we strive to achieve at Baseball Prospectus. Sharing technology between Imagine and BP will provide our customers with new outlets to explore and enjoy the game of baseball."
"Our mission has always been to bring our community the most authentic, realistic, and, most importantly, fun baseball experience possible," added Dayne Myers, founder and CEO of Imagine Sports. "With this relationship with Baseball Prospectus, we will take this experience to another level, providing even more features and tools for our growing fan base of baseball enthusiasts."
The deal combines the baseball analysis expertise of Baseball Prospectus and its renowned statistical tools - like its PECOTA projections and Davenport Translations of historical statistics -- with Imagine Sports' Diamond Mind PC and online games, the most authentic and statistically-accurate baseball simulation games available. Diamond Mind Online allows game-players to compete like a real baseball general manager, including drafting players, setting lineups and making trades. Utilizing the Diamond Mind Baseball software game engine developed and refined over the course of 20 years by renowned baseball statistics expert Tom Tippett, Diamond Mind Online is widely regarded as the most sophisticated and accurate baseball simulation game available. In the newly-released beta version of Diamond Mind Live, users can manage a game in progress against another human opponent or against the computer manager.
In celebration of the partnership, Imagine Sports will be offering all fans free trials of Diamond Mind Live on their website at: www.imaginesports.com. In this first version of the game, fans will be able to choose from historical teams like the New York Giants and Brooklyn Dodgers, as well as current teams from baseball's modern era.
